Wrestlers Fans Thought Dated: What the Evidence Actually Shows

Wrestling storylines and close partnerships can fuel dating speculation. Here are the limited cases supported by available reports—and the pairings that should not be called “never dated.”

Some wrestling pairings look romantic because the story says they are; others attract speculation because the performers work closely together. Those things do not establish a private relationship. The available evidence supports a few carefully qualified examples—not a verified list of ten—and one especially tempting pair of names belongs on the exclusion list, not in the article.

Victoria and Stevie Richards: the on-screen romance was not a real-life relationship

This is the clearest example of a scripted connection being mistaken for a private one. Victoria said their chemistry felt natural, but explicitly clarified that they were together only on screen: “A lot of people thought we were really dating in real life. No, we were on screen only.” TJR Wrestling attributes the remarks to Victoria’s appearance on the Wrestling Life podcast and reproduces a longer transcript. Read TJR Wrestling’s report.

The distinction matters: an effective performance can make a storyline romance convincing, but it is not evidence that the performers dated outside the show.

Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio: reported denial, not proof from their chemistry

Ripley and Mysterio’s on-screen chemistry prompted questions about whether they were romantically involved in real life. A Legit.ng article reports that Ripley told the New York Post they were not. Because the available account is secondary, this is best described as a denial attributed to Ripley rather than treated as a directly verified quotation. Read Legit.ng’s account.

The fictional relationship explains why viewers might ask; it does not answer the question about the performers’ private lives. A reported first-person denial is more relevant than reading real-life romance into an on-screen pairing.

Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan: a tag-team partnership that invited speculation

The same Legit.ng article says fans wondered whether Ripley and Morgan were dating because of their close tag-team partnership, and states that they never dated. The account does not point to a direct denial from either wrestler, so the claim should be treated as a secondary-source report, not a first-person confirmation. See the article’s relationship-history account.

This is a different kind of mix-up from a scripted romance: viewers may interpret closeness between teammates as a sign of a private relationship, but partnership alone establishes no such thing.

Shelly Martinez and CM Punk: an unrealized crush, not a confirmed couple rumor

Martinez’s account does not establish that she and Punk were ever a couple. In a January 27, 2026 report, ITR Wrestling transcribes her saying that she had a crush on him and was glad they never dated or hooked up. The article attributes the comments to her podcast, TMI: Too Much Information with Shelly Martinez. Read ITR Wrestling’s report.

That is a one-sided account of attraction and an unrealized possibility. Calling them a pair fans thought had dated would go beyond what this source establishes.

Why Stacy Keibler and David Flair or Test do not belong on a “never dated” list

Keibler is a useful check against lists that confuse “not dating now” with “never dated.” In a July 2005 interview, she confirmed that she had dated David Flair years earlier and that she and Test had also dated, while saying she did not currently have a boyfriend. Read the archival interview report.

Those are confirmed past relationships by Keibler’s own account, so neither pairing fits this topic.

What these examples can—and cannot—support

  • Direct first-person clarification: Victoria explicitly said her relationship with Richards was on-screen only.
  • Attributed denial in a secondary report: Ripley’s reported statement about Mysterio is stronger than speculation based on their storyline, but the cited account is not the original interview.
  • Secondary claim without a direct denial located: The report about Ripley and Morgan links fan speculation to their teamwork but does not supply a first-person confirmation.
  • One person’s account of a crush: Martinez’s remarks about Punk describe her feelings, not a mutual relationship or a documented couple rumor.

These cases explain several ways viewers can mistake performance, teamwork, or personal interest for a relationship. They do not substantiate ten distinct examples. A responsible list should include a pair only when its status can be supported, and should distinguish a scripted romance from speculation and from a direct statement about private dating.
