Wolfgang Van Halen’s 2025 Rolling Stone All Access interview with host Brian Hiatt focuses on Mammoth’s new album, The End, and also names anxiety attacks and weight loss among its subjects. The episode listing confirms the conversation’s date and broad topics, but does not establish specific details about Van Halen’s health. The album itself offers a separate, documented account of anxiety and fear as themes shaped by the news cycle.
What the interview covers
Rolling Stone published the 55-minute All Access episode on November 4, 2025. Its listing identifies Brian Hiatt as host and says the conversation covers Mammoth’s The End, Van Halen’s feud with David Lee Roth, a planned Eddie Van Halen tribute tour, anxiety attacks and weight loss. The listing establishes the subjects, not the details discussed in the interview. Rolling Stone’s episode page.
What is known about the anxiety and weight-loss references
The episode title and listing mention anxiety attacks and weight loss, but they do not verify symptoms, timing, causes, methods, amounts, or a diagnosis. Those specifics should not be treated as established without the interview audio or a reliable full transcript. A secondary account has described a weight-loss journey and a panic episode connected to the title track, but that account alone does not substantiate personal-health details.
How anxiety figures in Mammoth’s The End
The End is Mammoth’s 2025 album. In Apple Music’s album commentary, Van Halen describes lyrics shaped by anxiety and fear in response to the wider news cycle, with the record closing on the possibility that things could improve. He says, “It was never an intentional thing to write about that stuff.” In context, he is referring to those album themes—not making a clinical statement about his own health.
