William Levy was arrested on April 14, 2025, after Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance at Baires Grill in Weston, Florida. Booking records reported by CBS Miami list two charges: disorderly intoxication and trespassing after warning. Later reporting says Levy entered a misdemeanor diversion program. A July 2026 retrospective from LegalClarity says he completed that program in late September 2025 and that the charges were dismissed in October 2025. That dismissal comes from a secondary account, not from a court docket reviewed for this article, so it should be read as reported rather than independently confirmed.
What the arrest reports say happened
Deputies were sent to Baires Grill, in the 2200 block of Weston Road, shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, according to CBS Miami’s report, which was updated April 15, 2025. The arrest report, as CBS relayed it, describes Levy as “highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance inside the restaurant.” That wording is the arresting officer’s characterization in the report. It is an allegation made in the paperwork, not a finding by a judge or jury.

CBS also reports that the restaurant manager issued a trespass warning in the deputies’ presence and that Levy was ordered several times to leave before he was arrested. The disturbance was therefore described as taking place inside a restaurant, not on a public street. The popular shorthand “disorderly intoxication in public” in some headlines does not match the location in the reporting.
The two charges
Both charges come from the Broward County booking records as cited by CBS Miami:

#1 Best Overall
- Disorderly intoxication, tied to the officer’s description of Levy’s condition and behavior inside the restaurant.
- Trespassing after warning, tied to the trespass warning the manager issued before the arrest.
The Los Angeles Times, in an April 16, 2025 report by Carlos De Loera drawing on court documents, lists the same two charges. It says Levy was held at the Broward County Main Jail and that bail was set at $250 for each charge, after which he was released.
Levy’s account
Levy has given a different version of events to reporters. He said he stepped into an argument between other people to keep it from escalating. In the Los Angeles Times report he is quoted as saying, “From one moment to the next a conversation broke out between some other people,” and, “I got in the middle of it … and well, I was the one who ended up in handcuffs.” He also denied pushing anyone and said the incident never became physical.
Rank #2
These are Levy’s statements. They conflict with the arrest report’s description, and neither account has been tested in court in the reporting available.

What is established and what is not
- Established across contemporaneous reports: the arrest location, the approximate date, and the two booked charges.
- Reported but not independently verified here: the officer’s description of Levy as highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance, and the completion of diversion and dismissal in October 2025, which rest on a 2026 secondary retrospective.
- Disputed: Levy’s account that he tried to de-escalate an argument and never became physical.
Readers looking for the official disposition should check the Broward County court records, which the reporting cited above does not reproduce.
