Yes. FX’s Alien: Earth has been renewed for Season 2, and production is underway in London. Disney confirmed production and new cast members on July 10, 2026, but has not announced a premiere date or release window.
Has Alien: Earth been renewed for Season 2?
Yes. Disney announced the renewal on November 12, 2025, confirming that its creative collaboration with series creator Noah Hawley would continue. At the time, Disney said filming was expected to begin in London the following year. FX president John Landgraf said, “We’re looking forward to getting started on the next season of Alien: Earth, as well as other exciting projects that are in advanced stages of development.” Disney’s renewal announcement also reported the series had a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score and an 85 Metacritic score at that time; those are dated figures, not current live ratings.
Is Season 2 in production?
Yes. In an update dated July 10, 2026, Disney+ UK said Season 2 production was underway in London. That is a production milestone, not a release-window announcement. Disney+ UK’s update did not give a projected completion date.
Who is in the Season 2 cast?
The July 2026 announcement named Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn as additions to the Season 2 cast, alongside Peter Dinklage, who had been announced previously. Disney also listed Sydney Chandler and an ensemble including:

The announcement does not specify the roles of Ullman, Spruell or Flynn. Its cast list should not be read as a full role-by-role account of who returns or whom each actor plays.
When does Alien: Earth Season 2 come out?
No premiere date or release window was included in Disney’s November 2025 renewal announcement or its July 2026 production update. Any specific date circulating before an official announcement should be treated as speculation, not a confirmed schedule.

The official series synopsis sets the story in 2120, when five corporations govern Earth: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. Humans live alongside cyborgs and synthetics. Prodigy’s founder creates hybrids—humanoid robots infused with human consciousness—and Wendy, played by Sydney Chandler, is the first prototype. After a Weyland-Yutani spaceship crashes into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter dangerous life forms. The official series synopsis provides this premise, but Disney’s Season 2 announcement does not detail the next season’s plot. Further claims about what happens next remain speculation.
