That ’90s Show has no announced Season 4. Netflix did not renew the sitcom after its second season, a decision star Kurtwood Smith announced in October 2024. Smith raised the possibility of taking the show elsewhere, but no confirmed pickup or revival has been reported as of October 8, 2026.
Was That ’90s Show canceled?
Yes. On October 3, 2024, Kurtwood Smith, who played Red Forman, announced that Netflix would not renew the series. Contemporary coverage described the decision as a cancellation after two seasons. Smith’s statement, quoted by TheWrap on October 3, 2024, was: “Netflix will not be renewing.”

That means there is no Season 4 order from Netflix. The cancellation is a completed decision; it does not, by itself, rule out a future revival by another service.
Why do some reports refer to Season 3 or Part 4?
Netflix split the show’s second-season episodes into two release batches, labeled Part 2 and Part 3. That release naming can make the overall season count confusing: Part 3 was not a conventional third season. Netflix’s Tudum coverage described Part 3 as the show’s return for another set of episodes. Reports referring to the series not returning for Season 3 or Part 4 reflect that split-batch labeling, rather than evidence of a separate full third season.

Could another platform pick up the show?
Smith left open the possibility that That ’90s Show could be shopped elsewhere. That was a possibility, not an announcement of a buyer or a deal. No confirmed new platform, pickup, or revival was found as of October 8, 2026, so a Season 4 return remains unconfirmed.

Netflix announced That ’90s Show in October 2021 as an official spinoff of That ’70s Show. The original announcement described a 10-episode multicamera sitcom set in 1995, with Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp returning as Red and Kitty Forman. Netflix’s announcement established the premise and returning cast, but it does not indicate that the later-canceled series will come back.
