Art Garfunkel Jr. said he could imagine Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon making music together again, but he stressed that he was speaking hypothetically. The reports describe a recent personal meeting between the former partners—not an announced concert, charity event, or new recording.
Will Simon and Garfunkel reunite?
The cited reports do not announce a Simon & Garfunkel reunion. Garfunkel Jr. expressed hope that the two might work together musically, but offered possibilities rather than confirmed plans. No event or new recording was reported as booked or underway in the coverage.
What did Art Garfunkel Jr. say about a reunion?
In a November 11, 2024 report, PEOPLE quoted Garfunkel Jr. saying: “I do think there is a possibility of them getting together musically. I’m speaking hypothetically here, but maybe a big TV/charity event. And with a bit of encouragement from their peers in the music industry, that could lead to some new material. A new generation discovering the beautiful music they make together.” The quotation is attributed to Garfunkel Jr. through PEOPLE’s account; an original interview transcript was not available in the cited coverage. PEOPLE’s report
His examples—a television or charity appearance and, potentially, new material—were speculation. They should not be read as evidence that either idea has been discussed or scheduled by Simon and Garfunkel.

Why did the reunion possibility come up?
The comments followed a reported meeting between Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon after years apart. PEOPLE reported on November 11, 2024 that the two had met again; Garfunkel described the encounter as “very touching,” according to a separate report. Garfunkel Jr. said his father was very happy afterward. The meeting was personal, while a musical reunion was only a possibility imagined by his son. Report on the meeting
The story appeared during promotion for Father and Son, the album Art Garfunkel made with Art Garfunkel Jr. It is a father-and-son project, not a Simon & Garfunkel release. PEOPLE reported the album was out at the time of its November 2024 coverage. PEOPLE on Father and Son

What is known about a possible performance?
Later coverage, including an NME artist-profile result, noted that Simon and Garfunkel had not performed together since 2010. That history provides context for why a new appearance would draw attention, but it does not establish that one is planned. A Yahoo Entertainment follow-up published December 12, 2024 likewise described Garfunkel Jr. as hopeful and recounted his father’s account of meeting Simon. The reports cited here were published in November and December 2024. They document Garfunkel Jr.’s hypothetical hope, not a current announcement from either musician; any claim about later plans would require a newer official confirmation.
