Paramount’s public filings confirm that theatrical revenue and later distribution windows matter; they do not disclose this title’s total receipts, complete costs or final net profit. The claim that it will be profitable regardless of its box-office earnings is therefore unverified.
What do the reported box-office numbers show?
Box Office Mojo lists Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning at $598,767,057 worldwide: $197,413,515 in domestic box office and $401,353,542 internationally. The same listing gives the film a $350,000,000 budget. These are database figures, not an audited statement of the movie’s profit or loss. Box Office Mojo’s listing was accessed in 2026.
Gross box office is the amount reported from ticket sales, not the amount Paramount ultimately receives. The cited public sources do not give the film’s distributor receipts after exhibitors’ shares, nor do they provide the full costs needed to calculate its final result. A listed production budget is not a complete accounting of marketing and distribution costs.
Why box-office gross alone cannot settle profitability
A film’s theatrical gross, the studio’s receipts and its total costs are different figures. To establish a net profit, one would need title-level information about revenue reaching the studio across distribution windows and the costs charged against it. The public figures cited here do not supply that accounting.

What Paramount’s filing does—and does not—say
Paramount Global’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, says higher theatrical revenue in the second quarter was driven by the release of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning. The filing also describes “Licensing and other” revenue as including fees for licensing programs to secondary platforms, transactional video-on-demand and electronic sell-through, DVD and Blu-ray sales to wholesale and retail partners, and fees for trademarks and brands used in consumer products, recreation and live events. The filing does not break out this film’s contribution to those categories.
The same quarter’s $6.85 billion in Paramount revenue, $399 million in operating income and $57 million in net earnings from continuing operations attributable to Paramount are company-wide figures, not this movie’s revenue or profit. They cannot be used to establish the film’s individual financial result.

Does the Paramount+ release guarantee additional profit?
No. Paramount announced that the film would begin streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on December 4, 2025. That establishes another distribution window in those markets, not the value of a license or the film’s net return from streaming. Paramount’s announcement does not disclose title-level streaming revenue.
There is also an official Paramount Pictures Japan site listing a 4K UHD and Blu-ray set for the film. That confirms a physical-media release in the Japanese market, but it does not establish worldwide availability or sales revenue. The Japanese disc site provides no financial result for the film.

How to read studio-wide comments about profitability
On Paramount Skydance’s February 25, 2026 earnings call, CEO David Ellison said the studio entered 2025 with a film slate that “underperformed.” He described the larger 2026 release slate as “significantly more profitable” and said profitability would increase further as franchises arrived in 2027 and beyond. Those comments concern the studio’s slate and outlook; they are not a disclosure of The Final Reckoning’s individual profit or loss. The earnings-call transcript does not provide a title-level result.

The public evidence supports a substantial reported theatrical gross and confirms that the film had distribution beyond theaters. It does not show how much Paramount ultimately received across those channels or how those receipts compare with the film’s complete costs. The conclusion is limited but clear: the movie’s final profitability is not established by the cited public sources, and the claim that it will be profitable no matter its box-office earnings is not proven.
