The Kings welcomed the appearance with the post, “BUDDY THE ELF IS OFFICIALLY IN #HOCKEYWOOD”. The Los Angeles Times said the post accompanied a 25-second clip of Ferrell rinkside with his family.
Was Ferrell smoking a cigarette?
Reports described an object in Ferrell’s mouth that appeared to be an unlit cigarette. ABC News characterized it as an “un-lit prop cigarette.” The available reporting does not establish that it was a real cigarette or that Ferrell smoked it, so the visual should not be treated as proof that he was smoking.
