Wicked and Wicked: For Good release dates at a glance
Universal split the film adaptation of the Wicked stage musical into two feature films. The dates below are U.S. release dates and distinguish subscription streaming from transactional digital video-on-demand (VOD).

Where can you stream Wicked and Wicked: For Good?
In the U.S., both movies are currently available with a Peacock subscription. Peacock’s current guide identifies the service as the home for both films, but its catalog can change, so “currently streaming” is more accurate than treating the availability as permanent.
The Peacock package for Wicked includes the theatrical version and a sing-along version, along with deleted and extended scenes, behind-the-scenes material, and the NBC special Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked. Peacock also lists companion material for Wicked: For Good, including a director’s-commentary version.

Digital VOD: buy or rent the films
Both films received U.S. digital VOD releases before their subscription-streaming dates:
- Wicked: buy or rent digitally from December 31, 2024.
- Wicked: For Good: buy or rent digitally from December 30, 2025.
Digital VOD is not the same as subscription streaming. A rental or purchase is made through a digital retailer, while Peacock access depends on having an eligible subscription and the title remaining in its catalog.

Which physical version should you choose?
4K UHD
Choose 4K UHD if you want the highest-resolution physical presentation and have a compatible 4K UHD player and display. A 4K disc generally requires more specific equipment than a standard Blu-ray or DVD. Check whether the package also includes a Blu-ray disc and digital copy rather than assuming every 4K listing has the same contents.
Blu-ray
Blu-ray is the middle-ground choice for high-definition disc playback without requiring a 4K player. It is suitable for viewers who want a physical copy and HD presentation but do not have 4K equipment.
DVD
DVD is the compatibility-focused option for standard-definition playback and older DVD equipment. It is usually the practical choice when the main priority is playing the film on an existing DVD player rather than obtaining the highest available picture resolution.

The two-film collection
The listed Wicked two-film collection is worth considering if you want both parts together rather than buying the films separately. Compare the collection’s exact format, included discs, digital-copy terms, bonus content and price with the individual releases. Do not assume that a bundle has identical extras or packaging to every standalone edition.
Where to buy the physical releases
When comparing listings, search for the exact film and format rather than a generic Wicked product page. Useful starting points include Wicked 4K UHD Blu-ray, Wicked DVD, Wicked: For Good 4K UHD and the Wicked two-film collection. Before purchasing, verify that the listing is for the correct film, edition and region, and check whether it includes digital access, bonus features or more than one disc.
Streaming versus VOD versus disc: which option is best?
| Your priority | Best fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Watch both films now through one subscription | Peacock | U.S. catalog availability and current subscription terms |
| Watch one film without a subscription | Digital rental | Rental price, viewing window, device support and audio/subtitle options |
| Keep convenient digital access | Digital purchase | Retailer license terms, supported devices and included extras |
| Own a physical copy for repeated playback | Blu-ray or 4K UHD | Player compatibility, edition contents and disc format |
| Use older equipment | DVD | Standard-definition expectations and regional compatibility |
| Collect both parts in one purchase | Two-film collection | Exact bundle format, disc count and bonus-feature parity |
Are these dates the same outside the U.S.?
No. The dates in this guide are specifically the researched U.S. dates. Digital retailers may release a title on different dates in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other territories. Prices, language tracks, subtitles, bonus material, rental windows, physical editions and streaming rights can also differ by market.
If you are outside the U.S., search your local Peacock service or regional digital retailer and confirm the listing for your territory. Do not assume that a U.S. release date guarantees simultaneous availability elsewhere.
