The $20 WICKED tickets for Perth’s Gala Opening Night were a limited offer that has expired. WICKED Australia announced 300 tickets at $20 each, sold in person at Crown Theatre from 9am on Friday 13 December 2024; the performance was Thursday 19 December 2024.
How the $20 ticket offer worked
WICKED Australia’s announcement on 9 December 2024 described the deal as a Perth-only promotion and the first time $20 opening-night tickets for WICKED had been offered in Australia. The allocation was 300 tickets for the Gala Opening Night at Crown Theatre Perth.

- Go to Crown Theatre in person: tickets were to be sold at the theatre, not through an online purchase channel.
- Arrive for the sale: sales began at 9am on Friday 13 December 2024.
- Bring valid ID: the offer required buyers to show valid identification.
- Follow the purchase limit: each customer could buy up to two tickets. Tickets were first come, first served, subject to availability, and resale was prohibited.
WICKED Australia’s 9 December 2024 announcement set out these terms. PerthNow’s report published the same day also described the in-person sale, two-ticket limit and ID requirement: PerthNow’s report.
Why the offer is no longer available
The sale date and performance have both passed. The Perth season was scheduled to run from 15 December 2024 to 2 February 2025 at Crown Theatre, and the $20 allocation was specifically for the 19 December Gala Opening Night. This is historical information, not a current ticket offer.

WICKED Australia’s 2024 media kit listed Perth ticket prices from $79, with transaction fees applying; PerthNow reported that regular tickets typically started at $79. Those are historical advertised prices, not a guide to current availability or pricing. See the official WICKED media kit and PerthNow report.
Ticketing context for the Perth season
Ticketmaster’s WICKED Australia listing identifies Ticketmaster as the authorized seller for the Crown Theatre Perth season and TodayTix as the official lottery partner. Those general ticketing details did not override the special $20 promotion’s in-person purchase rule, and they do not make the expired offer available online or through the lottery. See Ticketmaster Australia’s WICKED listing.

What the announcement said about opening night
In the 9 December 2024 announcement, WICKED Australia co-producer John Frost said: “I’m thrilled we’re able to bring WICKED back to Perth, and that fans have the chance to come along to the Opening Night for only $20. This is one of the most lavish musical productions that have ever played in Australia, the full Broadway experience.” This was a promotional statement from the producer, not an independent assessment of the production.
