Forest Mayor Charles Spapens banned Disturbed’s scheduled 15 October 2025 concert at Forest National, citing a significant risk of public disorder and negative police advice. Contemporary reporting connected the concerns to possible protests, the venue’s location and pressure on local police resources. Disturbed said ticket refunds would be automatic within 30 days.
What happened to the Forest National concert?
Disturbed was scheduled to perform at Forest National in the Brussels municipality of Forest on 15 October 2025. On 10 October, The Brussels Times reported that Forest Mayor Charles Spapens had issued a police order banning the performance.
Spapens cited a significant risk of public disorder. As quoted by The Brussels Times, he said: “Given the police’s negative advice and the venue’s unique location, it was my duty to make this decision.”
What safety concerns were reported?
The Brussels Times connected the decision to the possibility that counter-demonstrations or protests could escalate, the venue’s location in a residential neighborhood, and pressure on local police resources amid demonstrations and industrial action. The report also referred to a negative police assessment.
