Below Deck’s Season 11 firing had a clear on-screen explanation: Captain Kerry Titheradge cited problems with Chef Anthony Iracane’s food, timing and attention to detail after guests were unhappy with the meals. The later dispute over Fraser Olender’s role is less settled. Anthony said he heard Fraser was a major factor; Fraser acknowledged giving Kerry candid feedback but denied wanting Anthony fired.
Why was Chef Anthony fired from Below Deck?
Captain Kerry fired Anthony in Season 11, Episode 12, after the crew received its lowest tip of that season and guests had expressed dissatisfaction with the food, according to Bravo’s episode account, published April 22, 2024. Kerry cited issues with Anthony’s food, timing and attention to detail. He told the chef, “This is not the right environment for you, mate. You’re not flourishing here… If I keep you here any longer, I’m going to set you up for disaster.”
Kerry described the decision as heartbreaking and said the crew had started noticing the shortcomings. The episode account gives no tip amount, so the meaningful detail is the season-relative low—not a specific dollar figure.
Did Fraser get Anthony fired?
The available accounts do not establish that Fraser caused the firing. In a Season 12 interview with Bravo, Fraser said Kerry asked him whether the chef was meeting expectations. Fraser recalled answering, “I was asked a very honest question — ‘Is chef nailing it?’ — and the answer’s no.” He said he had to be honest about the performance and guests’ dissatisfaction as chief stew, but did not want Anthony dismissed.

Fraser said he hoped Anthony would get another chance or a firm warning, and that he was surprised Kerry let him go. “I did not want him to go. I wanted him to have another chance or have a firm, stern talking to,” he said in the July 21, 2025 Bravo interview. His account explains what he says he told Kerry; it does not independently confirm the details of their private conversation or prove what determined Kerry’s decision.
What did Anthony believe happened?
When Anthony returned in Season 12 after the original chef left, he said he had heard from Barbara “Barbie” Pascual that Fraser had played a large part in his firing. Bravo reported Anthony’s account in its July 11, 2025 coverage: “She told me Fraser was a big part of me getting fired. That hurt me so bad. I still don’t really know what happened…”

That is Anthony describing what Barbie allegedly told him and how it affected him—not independent confirmation that Fraser engineered the dismissal. The reported accounts support a distinction between the captain’s stated reason for firing Anthony and the unresolved question of what was said privately among crew members.

Bravo reported that Fraser recommended bringing Anthony back for the Season 12 vacancy. The two later discussed the firing directly: Fraser denied that he had tried to get Anthony dismissed, and Bravo says they hugged and made up.
