The 1994 prison drama The Shawshank Redemption, starring Morgan Freeman as Red and Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne, has appeared on country- and service-specific streaming charts. The available chart data runs through October 1, 2026; it does not establish one worldwide ranking or prove a fresh surge on October 8. Where to watch it depends on your country and whether you want subscription streaming, a rental, a digital copy, or a disc.

What does “back on the streaming charts” mean?
It means the title registered on particular charts in particular markets and services—not that it holds one universal position. StreamRank’s market-by-market tracker lists observations through October 1, 2026, and includes both streaming and purchase charts, such as Amazon DVD/Blu-ray. Its entries should not all be read as subscription-streaming rankings. See StreamRank’s chart tracker.
Chart methods also differ. JustWatch says its rankings reflect activity by its users, including clicking a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist, or marking it as seen. The company says its charts update daily across 140 countries and 4,500 services. Those signals can indicate interest within that platform, but they are not verified viewing totals and do not explain why a film is appearing on a chart. Read JustWatch’s chart methodology.

JustWatch’s US guide, checked October 7, 2026, reported checking 375 US streaming services and displayed streaming, digital rental and purchase, DVD, and Blu-ray options. That is a dated US snapshot, not confirmation of current offers elsewhere—or of a named service’s live catalog today. Check the local guide and the service listing before choosing.

The dated US availability snapshot identifies categories of offers, but it does not establish that the film is currently free to stream. A title may be included in a subscription without a separate rental fee, while rental, purchase, and disc options are paid separately; check the terms displayed for your country before watching.
