Futurism reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, AMD CEO Lisa Su and Zoom CEO Eric Yuan attended a private White House screening of the documentary Melania. The outlet also said CNN reported that attempts to reach the executives afterward went unanswered. That establishes a reported lack of response to outreach—not what the executives thought, what they may have said privately, or why they did not comment.
What happened at the White House screening?
In an article published January 27, 2026, Futurism described a private screening of Melania held at the White House late on a Saturday night. It named four technology executives as attendees, attributing the attendee list to The Hollywood Reporter. The available account does not establish that the event was a public premiere.

Futurism also reported that guests received monogrammed popcorn buckets, framed screening tickets and limited-edition copies of Melania Trump’s 2024 book, Melania. The account identifies a physical book given to guests; it does not establish that the screening edition is currently available for retail purchase.
Did the executives say anything afterward?
Futurism said CNN reported that efforts to contact the executives after the screening were ignored. This is an account of unanswered outreach, not a verified public statement or proof that the executives made no private comments. The available reporting does not specify enough to independently establish whom CNN contacted or the details of its outreach.
#1 Best Overall
No attributable public statement by Cook, Jassy, Su or Yuan about attending the screening or responding to the outreach is established in the accessible account. An unanswered request for comment should not be treated as confirmation of agreement, disapproval or any particular reaction.
Why did they attend, and why did they not respond?
The available reporting does not explain why the executives attended or why they did not respond. Futurism’s suggestions that they might have feared ridicule or put business interests ahead of ethics are the article’s commentary, not statements or verified motives from the executives.
Rank #2
Futurism placed the screening a few hours after federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. That timing is part of the article’s framing, but the report does not establish that the executives discussed the shooting, connected it to the film, or chose not to comment because of it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is confirmed, and what remains attributed?
The distinction matters because the accessible account relies on other outlets for key details. Futurism attributes the list of attendees to The Hollywood Reporter and the unanswered-outreach report to CNN. The linked Hollywood Reporter article was unavailable behind a paywall, and the CNN page could not be retrieved. Those details should therefore be read as claims reported by Futurism, not as independently verified here.
