Steven Ogg, who played Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V, says he feels “nothing inside” about Grand Theft Auto 6 because he is not a gamer and has never played video games—not even the game that made Trevor famous. His remark is about his personal lack of interest in gaming, not a judgment of the new game or a statement about whether he will appear in it.
What Steven Ogg said about GTA 6
In a YouTube interview exchange described by GamesRadar+, Ogg was asked whether he was excited for GTA 6. He replied, “I feel nothing inside,” then explained: “I’m not a gamer. I’ve never played video games.” He added, “So I feel absolutely nothing.”

Ogg portrayed Trevor Philips in GTA V, but he says he has never played that game either. The contrast is striking: he is closely associated with a major video-game character while describing games as something he does not play.
Why he has not played GTA V
Ogg’s explanation is straightforward: he does not identify as a gamer and says he has never played video games. In recounting what he told someone who suggested he try GTA V, he said, “Well, one day you should read Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.” He used the novel as a pointed comparison—a recommendation to read a book was, in his view, about as relevant to him as the recommendation to play the game.

What Shawn Fonteno’s interruption adds
GamesRadar+ reports that Shawn Fonteno, who played Franklin in GTA V, interjected dismissively about the book during the exchange. The report also notes uncertainty about whether Fonteno knew the context of Ogg’s comparison. The interruption is part of the reported scene, but it does not change Ogg’s stated reason for his indifference.
What the remark does—and does not—mean
The comment is best read as personal indifference, not hostility toward GTA. GamesRadar+ notes that Ogg has previously denied that he “hates” the series or Trevor. Nor does saying he feels nothing about GTA 6 establish whether Ogg has been offered, accepted, or rejected a role in it. The exchange is not a statement on behalf of Rockstar, and it offers no evidence about the game’s quality.

HotHardware independently summarized the same exchange on September 22, 2025, reporting the “I feel nothing inside” line and Ogg’s explanation that he is not a gamer and has never played video games, including GTA V: HotHardware. Both accounts are reports of a YouTube clip rather than an official Rockstar statement or a transcript published by Ogg.
