Stephen Colbert missed The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to co-host GQ’s Men of the Year party, according to contemporary entertainment reporting. GQ independently confirms that Colbert was a co-host at the event, but the reviewed sources do not include a CBS statement confirming that this was the reason for the show’s schedule change.
Why was Stephen Colbert absent from The Late Show?
A contemporary report from Last Night On said The Late Show took a break on November 13 so Colbert could co-host GQ’s party. That report connects his absence to the event; the available CBS and Paramount material does not independently confirm the reason or explain what aired in the program’s place.
What was GQ’s Men of the Year event?
GQ held its 2025 Men of the Year party on November 13 as a 30th-anniversary celebration themed “Party Like It’s 1995.” The magazine’s announcement named Colbert among the co-hosts, alongside GQ global editorial director Will Welch and cover stars Sydney Sweeney, Seth Rogen, SZA, Oscar Isaac, Clipse, and Hailey Bieber. GQ said the event would be livestreamed on its YouTube channel.
In its post-event coverage, GQ placed the gathering at the Chateau Marmont and included Colbert among the cover stars in attendance. These first-party GQ sources confirm his role and presence, but do not explain the television schedule change.

How does the date differ from GQ’s 2024 event?
The headline can be confusing without a year because GQ holds the event annually. Its 2024 announcement described a November 14 party co-hosted by Dwayne Johnson, John Mulaney, and Pharrell Williams. The Colbert event was the 2025 celebration on November 13.
What is The Late Show’s usual schedule?
A November 2025 Paramount Press Express release lists The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as ordinarily airing Monday through Friday, 11:35 p.m. to 12:37 a.m. ET/PT on CBS. It also describes Paramount+ access: live and on demand for eligible Premium subscribers, and next-day on demand for Essential subscribers. This is general schedule information, not confirmation of the November 13 episode’s status or replacement programming.
