In the video, as described by PerthNow, she posed in a dark red, bedazzled bikini while Kai walked in the background. Guidolin said critics were overlooking that posing is part of her sport.
What prompted the criticism in 2022?
The earlier controversy centered on a birthday post for Kai’s 15th birthday, reported by 7NEWS in April 2022. The outlet described a photo of Guidolin hugging her son while wearing a green leopard-print bikini.
7NEWS reported that Guidolin described the image as a normal moment between mother and son after swimming and objected to commenters sexualising it. The outlet quoted her: “Do I have a problem wearing a bikini in front of my sons? NO WAY.”
What did Guidolin post in March 2024?
PerthNow reported on March 18, 2024, that Guidolin shared a video posing in a dark red, bedazzled bikini as Kai walked in the background. The report framed the video as a response to people who had criticized her for posing in a bikini near her son.

PerthNow identified Guidolin as an IFBB Bikini Pro. It reproduced her caption recalling the earlier coverage: “Lol remember when the media tried to shame me for wearing a bikini in front of my son”. She said people had forgotten that posing was her sport and asked: “My son doesn’t sexualise my body so why do others”. These words are reported from the Instagram caption, rather than independently verified from the original post.
How did she explain the posing?
Guidolin’s reported response was that the bikini posing should be understood in the context of her sport, rather than treated as inherently sexual because her son was nearby. PerthNow also quoted her referring to “13 years of hard work”; that is her description of her training, not an independently measured figure.

The reports establish the sequence of the public dispute: criticism followed the 2022 birthday photo, and Guidolin later addressed that criticism in a 2024 video and caption, according to PerthNow. The outlets describe her stated view and the images they reported on; they do not provide independent evidence of Kai’s private feelings or settle the merits of commenters’ opinions.
