That was his position in a filing, not a court ruling. In March, reports said the parties had agreed to resolve the dispute over their Texas property and that Iswarienko would withdraw his challenge. The available reporting does not confirm that every condition of the agreement was completed.
What Iswarienko challenged
Doherty filed for divorce in 2023. According to Us Weekly’s January 16, 2026 report, Doherty signed a divorce agreement on July 12, 2024, Iswarienko signed it the next day, and the agreement was entered in court on July 15. Doherty died on July 13, 2024, aged 53.
In a filing dated January 14, 2026, Iswarienko argued that Doherty’s death ended the divorce proceeding and that the court could not enforce the agreement afterward. The report describes an argument made by his lawyer; it does not report a judicial decision accepting or rejecting it.
What Doherty’s estate alleged
In a petition dated November 24, 2025, the estate’s trustee alleged that Iswarienko had not complied with several obligations. Us Weekly’s November 27, 2025 report described the estate’s claims concerning the Texas home, an inventory of photographic works, the return of certain property, licensing fees, and money tied to an airplane and hangar arrangement.

- Texas home: The estate alleged that the Dripping Springs property had not been listed for sale. It cited an estimated value of $1.5 million; that was the estate’s estimate as reported by Us Weekly, not an independently established appraisal.
- Airplane and hangar: The estate said $50,274 remained due for the arrangement. The March report about the property settlement does not establish how this claimed amount was ultimately handled.
- Photographic works: The estate alleged that an inventory had not been provided. The divorce agreement was also reported to give Doherty half of licensing or syndication fees Iswarienko received for specified photographic works made during their marriage, as described in Us Weekly’s report on the agreement.
- Personal property: The March settlement report said Doherty’s estate was to arrange the return of Iswarienko’s guitars, equipment, and restored Garrard stereo record player, with the court retaining jurisdiction over that return.
These were allegations and reported agreement terms, not findings that the estate’s claims had been proved.
What the March agreement said about the Texas property
On March 25, 2026, Us Weekly reported that court documents submitted the previous day recorded an agreement to resolve the pending litigation. Under the reported terms, Iswarienko could receive the Texas property if he timely paid the estate half of its equity and provided a complete inventory of his photographic works. If he did not make the required payment, the house would be sold. The report does not specify a final payment amount or confirm that the conditions were met.

The report also said Iswarienko would withdraw his court filing and that an April 3 hearing would be removed from the docket. It does not provide a final accounting of the disputed amounts or show that all parts of the agreement were completed. Read the March 25 report on the agreement for the terms as reported.

The dispute moved through distinct stages: the estate made noncompliance allegations in 2025; Iswarienko challenged the court’s authority in January 2026; and the parties reportedly reached an agreement in March. The available reports do not include a reasoned court decision on his jurisdiction argument. The reported agreement describes how the parties would resolve the pending litigation, but does not establish that every condition was performed.
