Sara later said her relationship with her father is “very good,” so their childhood account should not be read as proof of lasting estrangement.
What Sara and Erin Foster said about their childhood
In a December 2019 report about their appearance on Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’s Sibling Revelry podcast, Us Weekly described the sisters’ childhood emotional turmoil in connection with their father’s role in raising Brandon and Brody Jenner. The report says Sara and Erin lived with their mother after their parents separated.
Sara’s remarks, as quoted by Us Weekly, were direct: “Our dad was raising other children. He wasn’t raising us. He was raising Brandon and Brody.” The quotation expresses Sara’s recollection of how the family arrangement felt to her; it does not establish that she had no relationship with her father.
Why the contrast mattered to the sisters
The sisters connected their feelings to the difference between the household they shared with their mother and the one they associated with David Foster’s role in raising the Jenner boys. Us Weekly also reported Erin’s description of the different living arrangements and the boys’ more materially comfortable household. The account is their reported perspective on childhood, not an independently verified history of every family member’s experience.

How Sara later described her relationship with David Foster
In a July 2, 2026, E! News report, Sara described her relationship with her father as very good. That later statement adds important context: her account of feeling hurt as a child does not, by itself, describe the relationship she has with him now.
E! News also reported in October 2024 that David publicly praised his daughters’ work on Nobody Wants This. That is evidence of public support, but it cannot establish the private dynamics of their family relationship.
