Rob Reiner said Jamie Lee Curtis encouraged him to play Albert Schnurr in The Bear. Reiner described the acting experience as enjoyable: “It’s fun to act, and I love acting because it’s no worries. You just show up and do your work.” His guest role was a three-episode Season 4 arc, not just a one-scene cameo.

Who did Reiner play, and how large was the role?
Reiner played Albert Schnurr, a pragmatic restaurant consultant who mentors Ebraheim, played by Edwin Lee Gibson. The Los Angeles Times describes Albert’s Season 4 part as a three-episode arc. Calling it a “cameo” captures that Reiner was a guest rather than a lead, but the role recurs across the season.
A June 2025 episode guide identifies Albert’s first appearance as Season 4, Episode 3, “Scallop,” and Reiner’s return in Episode 5, “Replicants.” Those episode details illustrate the arc without making it a single-scene appearance.
