Prince William’s “sexiest man” title came from a ranking of famous bald men—not a poll naming him the most attractive man overall. Reboot Online’s Digital PR campaign included an unusual factor alongside facial proportions and voice: scalp shine.
Which title did Prince William win?
The headline refers to Reboot Online’s “Sexiest Bald Man” ranking. Its campaign began in 2021, and the agency says William returned to the top in 2023 after losing the title in 2022. The retrospective was published on December 7, 2023, and updated on November 11, 2024. Reboot Online’s campaign retrospective describes the project as a Digital PR campaign.

That distinction matters: it was a ranking of famous bald men, not a universal “Sexiest Man” award or a representative public vote.
Why was the result considered surprising?
Reboot says it considered four factors: facial proximity to the golden ratio, cranial shine, voice attractiveness, and global search interest. The “shocking” element is likely the inclusion of scalp shine and search interest alongside more familiar measures such as facial proportions and voice. The agency’s account of its methodology presents these as campaign criteria; it does not establish them as validated measures of attractiveness.

#1 Best Overall
The accessible retrospective does not provide enough detail to reproduce the final score or verify every calculation. The result should therefore be understood as Reboot’s campaign ranking, not a scientific consensus about who is most attractive.
What do the campaign figures actually measure?
Reboot’s retrospective reports the following figures for its 2023 campaign:
Rank #2
| Reported figure | What it represents |
|---|---|
| 13,800 social-media mentions | Mentions associated with the campaign, according to Reboot Online’s 2023 retrospective. |
| 348 TV and radio mentions | Broadcast mentions reported by Reboot Online for the campaign. |
| More than 600,000 engagements | Campaign engagement reported by Reboot Online. |
These are measures of campaign attention, not counts of people who voted for William or agreed that he was the most attractive man. Reboot’s page reports them as campaign results, not as a poll tally. See the campaign figures in context.
How does this differ from other “sexiest man” lists?
There are other lists that can sound similar but use different populations and methods. In a separate 2024 UK “sexiest man” poll reported by the press, William placed third. Reboot also named him winner of its 2024 bald-men ranking, according to Marie Claire’s report. These are distinct claims, not confirmation of a single ongoing title.

To compare such rankings fairly, check who was eligible, who produced the list, what method it used, the year, and whether its numbers describe votes or publicity. A ranking of bald celebrities built by a marketing agency cannot be treated as interchangeable with a broader poll.
Why search interest is not a public vote
Search interest can indicate that people looked for a topic; it cannot, by itself, show that they found a person attractive or supported a ranking. A 2021 critique of earlier “sexiest bald man” coverage made this point about interpreting search-result counts as though they were survey results. That critique addressed earlier coverage and does not directly disprove Reboot’s 2023 ranking, but it is a useful caution when reading search interest as one of the campaign’s inputs. The Guardian’s 2021 critique discusses that broader limitation.
Rank #4
What was behind the campaign?
Reboot frames the ranking as a Digital PR campaign. Its retrospective says an earlier campaign was created for a hair-transplant business and notes that campaigns of this kind could suit industries including men’s grooming, skincare, headwear, and hair treatments. That is context about potential campaign clients, not an endorsement of a product or treatment for readers. Reboot’s retrospective provides the agency’s account.
