Good Bones premiered on HGTV in 2016, so the gap between Season 1 and today spans nearly a decade. The reporting does not account for every visible difference, and no medical professional has commented on her case. What follows separates what Mina has said about her own body from what remains unexplained.
What Mina has said changed
The table below lists only changes Mina described herself, as reported by the outlets named. Dates refer to when each report was published, not necessarily when the change happened.
| Change | What Mina described | Reported | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post-pregnancy body procedures | Tummy tuck, liposuction and breast implants, done in December 2020; pregnancy-related diastasis recti (a reported separation of 4.5 inches in her abdominal muscles) | February 5 and February 10, 2021 | Us Weekly; Parade |
| Weight change | Lost about 20 more pounds over the year after she began lifting weights with her husband, Steve Hawk; she described it as a side effect of gaining muscle, not deliberate weight loss | November 20, 2023 | TV Insider |
| Butt lift and eyelid surgery | Discussed in the 2023 report; the coverage does not give dates for either procedure | November 20, 2023 | TV Insider |
| Injectables | Botox; she said, “I don’t actually have filler in my lips or cheeks. I do have Botox.” | November 20, 2023 | TV Insider |
The post-pregnancy procedures
In a February 2021 interview with Us Weekly, Mina said she had a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast implants in December 2020. She explained that exercise alone had not gotten her where she wanted to be. “I wasn’t happy with my body and what I could accomplish just working out and didn’t feel like myself,” she said.
Parade’s interview from February 10, 2021 carried her reasoning for choosing surgery: “There are so many ways you can go about trying to get back to how you feel like yourself, and for me, the best and the right path was with surgery.”
#1 Best Overall
She also linked the decision to diastasis recti, the separation of the abdominal muscles that can follow pregnancy. Mina described her own separation as four and a half inches. That is one person’s reported measurement, not a population figure, and it is the most specific anatomical detail she has given publicly.
The later weight change
In November 2023, TV Insider reported Mina’s comments from her podcast appearances. She said that after her “mommy makeover,” she started lifting weights with her husband and “probably lost about another 20 pounds over that year.” The figure is her own estimate, and it covers a single year after the surgery, not a documented weight history.
Rank #2
Her account frames the loss as a byproduct of building muscle rather than an intentional diet or treatment. The reporting does not attribute the change to any medication, and nothing in it supports adding one to the explanation.
The 2023 disclosures: eyelid surgery, butt lift and Botox
The TV Insider report also says Mina discussed a butt lift and blepharoplasty, the surgical term for eyelid surgery. The coverage does not state when either procedure took place, so neither can be placed on a timeline against Season 1.

On injectables, she drew a clear line. She said she has Botox but no filler in her lips or cheeks. That statement covers the period when she made it. It does not confirm what she has or has not had since.
What the reporting does not establish
Several things a viewer might notice cannot be explained from the available sources:
- Facial changes beyond what she named. Mina has not discussed facial procedures other than the eyelid surgery and Botox noted above, and no report confirms any others.
- Timing of the 2023 procedures. Neither the butt lift nor the eyelid surgery has a published date in the coverage reviewed.
- Medical causes. No doctor, medical society or regulator has commented on Mina’s treatments. Generic explanations about aging, skin or hormones would not be evidence about her.
- Visual comparisons. Lighting, makeup, hairstyle, camera angle and simple passage of time can all change how someone looks on screen. None of the sources ties any of them to a medical or cosmetic cause.
In short, the body changes Mina has described are documented in her own words. Changes to her face are only partly accounted for.

A CinemaBlend recap dated May 1, 2026 of Mina’s podcast comments reported that she described stomach issues and physical therapy for jaw tension during a stressful period of filming Good Bones. Those details are context she shared about her experience. They are not established causes of any specific change in her appearance, and the recap does not connect them to her procedures or weight change. The full recap is available at CinemaBlend.
How to read the difference fairly
- Compare body shape only against the weight and surgical history Mina has described, with the 2020 procedures and the 2023 weight change as the reference points.
- Treat the eyelid surgery, butt lift and Botox as things she has discussed, without assigning them dates the reporting does not give.
- Check the original show and interview footage at HGTV’s Good Bones page before drawing conclusions from still images.
Read this way, the most accurate answer to the question is that Mina has openly described surgery after pregnancy and a later weight change, has named a few further procedures, and has not provided a full account of her appearance over the show’s run.
