Matt Bomer’s reported reason for wanting to return to White Collar was the people he would be working with again. During a virtual reunion, the series star said, “There’s nothing that I would want more than to be on a set with this group of people again.” That explains his enthusiasm; it does not establish that filming had begun or had a confirmed start date.
Why Bomer wanted to return
The appeal, as reported, was reuniting with a cast Bomer considered close friends. The coverage says the actors text at least once a week and get together for dinner as a group about once a year. Those details were offered as a paraphrase of his explanation, not as additional direct quotations.

That distinction matters: the most revealing evidence is the line attributed directly to Bomer during the virtual reunion. His enthusiasm was about being on set with this group again. The report does not attribute it to a particular script detail, a production schedule, or a confirmed filming date.
The quote is reported in a CBR article surfaced through IMDb News, dated June 9, 2024. It is secondary entertainment coverage of Bomer’s comments, rather than a current production announcement. Read the CBR article surfaced via IMDb News.

What was reported about the revival
The same coverage described the revival as being in script development. It gave the reported project title as White Collar Renaissance and the reported pilot title as “Masquerade.” It also summarized earlier comments that the project was moving in a positive direction.
These are development details, not evidence that the series had been formally greenlit, entered production, or scheduled its first day of filming. A project title and a pilot title can show that a revival is being worked on, but neither tells viewers when cameras will roll.
| Reported detail | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| White Collar Renaissance | A reported title for the project during script development. | A production start, filming date, or release date. |
| “Masquerade” | A reported title for the pilot. | That a pilot has been filmed or that a series order is confirmed. |
| Positive direction | Earlier comments, as summarized in the coverage, sounded encouraging. | A formal greenlight or a scheduled production. |
Has filming started, or is there a confirmed start date?
The available reporting does not verify either. As of October 13, 2026, the evidence summarized here still does not establish that cameras have started rolling or provide a confirmed filming date. That is a limit of what this source supports, not proof that no separate announcement exists.
The article behind the IMDb News result is historical reporting from June 2024. It can support what Bomer reportedly said and what the project was reportedly called at that time; by itself, it cannot confirm the revival’s status more than two years later. For a current answer, look for a direct announcement from the studio, network, creator, or cast that explicitly confirms production or gives a start date.

- Factory sealed DVD
When evaluating an update, separate expressions of interest and development news from production confirmation. “Moving in a positive direction,” a script title, or a pilot title is not the same as a dated notice that filming has begun or is scheduled.

The report characterizes White Collar as a six-season series. That history helps explain why a reunion would involve an established group of cast members and why fans might search for a complete-series edition. It does not, on its own, verify any DVD edition or its current availability.
Rank #4
The report’s passing references to streaming should not be treated as a guide to where the series can be watched now. Viewing availability can change, and the cited coverage does not establish current platform listings.
What the headline can—and cannot—tell you
The headline’s promise is about Bomer’s eagerness, not a production announcement. The reported quote and description of the cast’s friendships provide a clear answer to why he wanted to return: he valued the prospect of working with them again. The development details add context, but they do not turn that enthusiasm into proof of a filming schedule.

It did not confirm when filming would start. Because that coverage dates to 2024, a current production claim needs a newer, direct confirmation rather than an inference from the old report.
