Mandy Rose was released from WWE on December 14, 2022, according to Fightful. Fightful later reported, citing WWE sources, that the decision was tied to content on her FanTime page that the sources considered explicit and outside the parameters of her contract. Rose gave a different account in a January 2023 interview: she said she was never told that FanTime content was the reason for her release. WWE did not provide an on-record explanation in the cited reporting, so the two accounts remain unresolved.
What was the reported reason for Mandy Rose’s WWE release?
Fightful reported that WWE sources viewed content on Rose’s FanTime page as explicit and beyond what her WWE contract allowed. The sources reportedly also raised concerns about possible effects on WWE’s partner relationships and said Rose did not appear interested in stopping the posts. This is an account attributed to WWE sources by Fightful, not a public statement from an identified WWE official. Fightful’s report on the release
The available reporting does not establish which contract provision was involved, how the private decision was made, or whether any particular material was decisive. It also does not establish that WWE publicly announced this rationale.
What did Mandy Rose say about the release?
In a January 10, 2023 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Rose said she had not been told that FanTime material was the reason she lost the championship or was released. As Fightful reported her remarks, she said, “I was never told that.” She also referred to confidentiality limits on what she could discuss and said she had received one warning to take down material, which she complied with. That first-person account does not confirm Fightful’s attributed description of WWE’s reasoning; nor does Fightful’s reporting show that Rose was directly told the rationale its sources described. The cited accounts therefore differ on what Rose was told, and they do not resolve the internal reasoning behind WWE’s decision.
How the title loss and release unfolded
- December 13, 2022: Rose lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez. Fightful reported that Rose’s reign lasted 413 days and that the title change had originally been planned for the January 10, 2023 NXT event. Fightful’s report on the title match

- December 15, 2022: Rose posted a message on FanTime thanking supporters and saying her page would remain active: “Hey guys, thank you for all the messages. I am overwhelmed with all the love and support from you guys. And don’t worry the page is still up!” Fightful’s report on Rose’s message
- January 10, 2023: Rose discussed the title loss and release on the Tamron Hall Show, including her statement that she had not been told FanTime content was the reason.
What is known about the reported FanTime earnings?
F4WOnline reported on January 2, 2023, that FanTime had congratulated Rose in an Instagram post claiming she made $1 million in a month. That figure is a platform-reported claim relayed by F4WOnline, not independently audited income. It is context about FanTime’s own claim, not proof of WWE’s motive for the release.
