Why did George Burcea leave Wednesday?
LOS40 reported on August 22, 2025, that Burcea did not return for Season 2 and attributed this statement to his Instagram Story: “Por razones personales y de gestión, he decidido no formar parte más del proyecto Miércoles, temporada 2.” In English: “For personal and management reasons, I have decided not to be part of the Wednesday project, season 2.”
The quote is reported by LOS40 as wording from Burcea’s Story; it has not been independently verified here against the original post. LOS40 also said the deeper reason for his departure was not known. The reported phrase does not establish whether the decision involved scheduling, contract terms, location, creative differences, or a dispute.

Did Netflix explain the recasting?
No separate production rationale appears in Netflix’s official casting coverage. Netflix’s April 23, 2025 first-look report identifies Suotamo as Lurch, and its September 8, 2025 cast guide confirms the role, but neither explains why the casting changed. Netflix announced that Season 2 Part 1 would premiere on August 6, 2025, and Part 2 on September 3, 2025; its later cast guide described Part 2 as streaming.
