Landman is already in production on season three for Paramount+, while Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount television contract is set to run through the end of 2028. That makes the series a plausible bridge title as Sheridan’s future work shifts to NBCUniversal—not proof that he has already left, or that Landman is officially Paramount’s single most important show.
Is Taylor Sheridan leaving Paramount?
Not yet. Paramount’s third-quarter 2025 results state that Sheridan’s television contract concludes at the end of 2028. The Associated Press reported on October 7, 2026 that he will move to NBCUniversal when that contract runs out. The distinction matters: this is a future transition after his existing obligations, not a completed departure.

That timeline gives Paramount years to continue work covered by the current arrangement. It does not, by itself, establish what Sheridan’s role will be on any particular series after 2028.
Is Landman renewed for season 3?
Yes. Paramount’s official title listing identifies Landman as a Paramount+ drama renewed for a third season. Paramount announced on October 1, 2026, that season-three production had begun in Fort Worth, Texas. The announcement names Sheridan and Christian Wallace as the series’ creators.

That production is concrete evidence that Landman remains an active Paramount+ title during Sheridan’s current contract. Paramount has not established in these announcements where the show will be after 2028, or who will lead it creatively then.
Why does Landman stand out?
Paramount’s audience claim
In its first-quarter 2026 results exhibit, Paramount Skydance described Landman as the most-watched series in Paramount+ history. That is a company-reported ranking, not an independently verified comparison: the cited exhibit does not provide a methodology or the full audience dataset behind the claim.
A record-setting season-two premiere, according to Paramount
Paramount said the season-two premiere drew more than 9.2 million global streaming views in its first two days after its November 2025 debut. The company also called it the most-watched premiere in Paramount+ history at that time. Both the figure and the superlative are Paramount’s claims; they should not be read as an external audit or as a current comparison across all titles.
Together, the two statements make a strong case that Landman has exceptional reach for the service. They do not show that it leads Paramount’s series in revenue, profitability, strategic value, or every other measure of importance.

Will Landman stay on Paramount+ after Taylor Sheridan leaves?
That has not been established. The available announcements confirm the show’s Paramount+ home and season-three production, while the contract information gives Sheridan’s Paramount television deal an end date. They do not say what happens to Landman’s platform, ownership, or creative leadership after 2028. A confirmed current home and an active season are not a guarantee of a post-contract arrangement.
For now, Paramount’s official Landman page lists the series on Paramount+. Any claim about its home beyond the current production period would go beyond what the company has announced.

Has Landman become Paramount’s most important show?
That depends on what “important” means. If the measure is audience reach, Paramount’s own historical ranking makes Landman a leading candidate. If it means dependable continuity during a high-profile creator’s eventual transition, its renewal and season-three production support the case that it could be a valuable bridge title. But the cited sources do not rank Paramount’s shows by strategic importance or provide a financial comparison with the rest of its slate.
The defensible conclusion is narrower than the headline’s superlative: Landman is one of Paramount+’s most valuable current series by the audience measure Paramount has disclosed, and it is continuing on the service while Sheridan remains under contract. Whether it becomes Paramount’s single most important show—or what happens to it after 2028—remains unsettled.
