In WWE’s December 23, 2024 Raw storyline, Kofi Kingston’s mother disapproved of how Kingston and Xavier Woods treated Big E. The moment followed Big E’s rejected attempt to help his New Day teammates work through their conflict.
Why was Kofi Kingston’s mother upset with The New Day?
WWE’s official December 23 highlight presents Kingston’s mother as disgusted with the group’s behavior toward Big E. It is a scripted storyline moment, not evidence of a real-life dispute between Kingston’s family and his teammates. Watch WWE on USA’s official highlight, “Even Mama Kingston is Disgusted at New Day’s Behavior.”
What did Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods do to Big E?
They rejected his attempt to help
At The New Day’s 10-year anniversary celebration on the December 2, 2024 episode of Raw, Big E returned hoping to help Kingston and Woods address their problems. WWE’s retrospective says they berated him and ordered him out of the ring. WWE’s December 9 recap likewise describes the pair as unwilling to budge after Big E offered to help them. WWE’s December 9 recap and year-end retrospective provide the preceding context.
The storyline continued in Kingston’s hometown
WWE’s December 16 preview set up the next development in Boston, Kingston’s hometown, after Kingston and Woods had berated Big E and kicked him out of the group. The December 23 highlight then focused on Kingston’s mother’s disapproval of their treatment of Big E. Read WWE’s December 16 preview.
