King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Australia visit took place from 18 to 23 October 2024, with official engagements in Sydney and Canberra—not Western Australia. The published itinerary did not include a WA stop, but there is no evidence here that a previously confirmed Western Australia visit was cancelled. Contemporary reporting linked the scaled-back schedule to the King’s cancer treatment.
Why was the Australia trip shortened?
The Australian Government’s itinerary confirms the schedule and destinations but does not explain why it was limited. The Associated Press reported at the time that Charles was receiving cancer treatment and that the itinerary had been scaled back. That is the reported explanation for the shorter program, rather than a reason stated in the official itinerary. Associated Press coverage
Did the royal couple cancel a planned visit to Western Australia?
The published itinerary listed Sydney and Canberra and did not list any Western Australia destination. The Australian Government’s announcement on 12 September 2024 likewise said the King and Queen would travel to Canberra and Sydney during their 18–23 October visit. Neither record establishes that a WA stop had previously been confirmed and then cancelled. The distinction is important: Western Australia was omitted from the announced itinerary, but a cancellation is not documented. Australian Government announcement · Official visit itinerary
