After O.J. Simpson died in April 2024, some social-media users posted sarcastic condolences under Khloé Kardashian’s posts, reviving a long-running rumor that Simpson was her biological father. The comments were trolling, not evidence: Simpson and Kris Jenner denied the claim, and the available reporting does not establish Khloé’s paternity.
What prompted the comments after Simpson’s death?
Simpson died on April 10, 2024, at age 76 after prostate cancer, according to the Associated Press. In the following days, users left sarcastic “condolences” beneath Kardashian’s social-media posts, using his death to make jokes about the old paternity rumor. Other users criticized the remarks as bullying. Contemporary coverage from the Miami Herald and Us Weekly documented the online reaction.
The reports describe comments and public speculation, not a measured picture of what the public believes. No verified statistic establishes how widespread the trolling or the rumor was.
Where did the paternity rumor come from?
Jokes about Khloé’s paternity circulated during the early years of the Kardashian family’s reality television fame, according to a retrospective account by Hot 97. The speculation gained renewed attention after Kris Jenner wrote in her 2011 memoir that she had an affair while married to Robert Kardashian. Jenner did not name the person involved. The Miami Herald and Us Weekly describe the memoir disclosure as a catalyst for renewed speculation—not proof that Simpson was involved.

Robert Kardashian was Simpson’s lawyer, a connection that added to the story’s public intrigue but does not substantiate the rumor. Reporting establishes that people repeated the claim; it does not establish Khloé’s biological father.
What did Simpson, Jenner, and Khloé say?
Simpson denied the claim
In a 2022 interview on the Full Send podcast, Simpson rejected the rumor. Us Weekly quoted him saying: “The rumor ain’t true. It’s not even anywhere close to being true.”

Jenner also denied involvement
Coverage by Us Weekly and the Miami Herald reports that Jenner denied having a relationship with Simpson. Her memoir’s account of an affair did not identify the person, and the reports do not present it as evidence of a connection to him.
Khloé declined a DNA test
In a 2012 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jenner asked Khloé whether she wanted a DNA test. Khloé declined. Us Weekly quoted her saying, “Mom, I don’t care what they’re saying,” and “I don’t need a DNA test to prove who my father is.” The Miami Herald quoted her saying, “I don’t need someone to tell me who my family is.” Declining a test does not resolve the rumor in either direction.

What the record can—and cannot—show
- Documented: Users made sarcastic comments after Simpson’s death, and media outlets reported on the renewed discussion.
- Documented: Simpson and Jenner denied the paternity rumor; Khloé declined a DNA test on the family’s reality show.
- Not established by the cited reporting: That Simpson was Khloé’s biological father. The comments, Jenner’s unnamed affair, Robert Kardashian’s professional relationship with Simpson, and Khloé’s choice about testing do not prove it.
The distinction matters: an online rumor can be repeated loudly without becoming verified. The available coverage is largely from April 11–12, 2024, and describes the immediate reaction; it does not establish what Kardashian has said or what users are posting now.
