La Vanguardia’s July 23, 2024 report described a dark mark below her left eye and swelling on the right side of her face. Both accounts concern the same July 22 sighting; neither identifies a confirmed cause.
Was the black eye painful, or was an injury confirmed?
No relevant statement from Holmes in these reports confirms pain, an injury, or any other explanation. “Painful” therefore goes beyond what the reporting establishes. The photographs and descriptions document how her face appeared; they do not establish whether the mark came from an injury, makeup, a procedure, or something else.

Did Holmes later post photos without a visible mark?
La Vanguardia reported that Holmes later shared an Instagram carousel in which no mark was visible, but said the images appeared to have been taken several days before the July 22 photographs. They are not evidence that the mark had resolved afterward or an explanation for its cause.
Does later coverage explain the 2024 sighting?
No. A May 18, 2026 HOLA article covered Holmes discussing her everyday makeup routine in a separate makeup video; it did not address the July 2024 appearance. That HOLA article is not a health update or an explanation of the earlier photographs.
