Why did Katherine Renee Kane leave FBI?
In August 2024, Kane publicly described her reason as a desire to pursue “new creative endeavors,” in a statement reported by TVLine. That is the explanation she gave; it does not identify a particular next role or explain her private deliberations. The reporting does not establish that she was fired or that a scandal prompted her exit.

Kane had played Special Agent Tiffany Wallace since Season 3. Her departure from the series-regular cast was reported in August 2024, ahead of the Season 7 premiere.
Why does Tiffany leave the team in Season 7?
Tiffany’s on-screen reason is not the same as Kane’s career explanation. In the Season 7 premiere, Tiffany says she had hoped Hakim’s capture would bring closure, but it did not. As TVLine’s October 15, 2024 recap transcribed her dialogue: “It wasn’t any one thing. I just wanted closure. I thought I’d get that after Hakim was gone; I didn’t.”

What happened with Hakim?
In the Season 6 finale, the team catches Hakim Siran, who was responsible for Agent Hobbs’s death. Tiffany shoots him after he appears to reach for a gun, and the team finds a gun on him. Kane described Tiffany as shaken by the moment in TVLine’s May 21, 2024 finale coverage.
Showrunner Mike Weiss said Tiffany continued to struggle with the fallout even after Hakim was gone. In an October 15, 2024 interview with TV Insider, he said the writing kept her “still grappling with the fallout from the really intense experience that she had at the end of Season 6.” The hoped-for revenge did not erase the emotional burden.

Where does Tiffany go?
Tiffany has already given notice when the Season 7 premiere opens on her “last day of school” with the team. She completes a final case with Scola and her colleagues, then says she is moving to Georgia to live near her sister. She also tells Scola that a partner who no longer wants to work in the field should not remain in the job.

No. In the same October 2024 TV Insider interview, Weiss said, “Never say never,” and explained that the show had not “seal[ed] that door shut.” He also said Tiffany needed time off and called Kane a trusted and beloved member of the show. That was an expression of openness at the time, not confirmation of a return or a current return plan.
