A 6 p.m. ET start is not confirmed by the official schedule information available here. The title also does not specify a year, and Royal Rumble start times can differ by edition. For comparison, official schedules listed the 2024 and 2023 events at 8 p.m. ET, with a 7 p.m. ET Kickoff. Check the schedule for the specific edition before treating 6 p.m. as the main-show start.
Is 6 p.m. ET the pre-show or the main show?
The available official schedule examples do not identify 6 p.m. ET as either the Kickoff or the main event. Peacock’s guide for the 2024 Royal Rumble listed the Kickoff Show at 7 p.m. ET and the event at 8 p.m. ET. WWE’s schedule for the 2023 edition listed the same times for its Kickoff and live event.

| 2024 | 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, according to Peacock’s guide published January 24, 2024 (Peacock) | 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, according to the same guide |
| 2023 | 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, according to WWE’s January 23, 2023 schedule (WWE) | 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, according to the same schedule |
These are historical examples, not confirmation of the schedule for another year. WWE’s indexed “What time does Royal Rumble start” page also gives an 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT start for a past edition, but its search snippet does not make the year clear (WWE).
Why might a listing show 6 p.m. ET?
The official sources cited here do not confirm a 6 p.m. ET start for a named edition and do not provide a reason for one. A listing may refer to a different edition, a different schedule segment, or a time converted from the venue’s local time. Without an official schedule identifying the year and what the time labels, those possibilities should not be treated as WWE’s explanation.

How to verify the start time for your edition
- Identify the year of the Royal Rumble listing; schedules from earlier editions do not establish the time for a later one.
- Check that edition’s official WWE event page or broadcast schedule, and distinguish the Kickoff or pre-show from the live event.
- Compare the listed venue-local time with the broadcast time in your time zone. Do not assume a time shown for the venue is already converted to ET.
- Confirm which platform carries the event in your territory. WWE announced that ESPN platforms, including ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service, would become the exclusive U.S. domestic home for WWE Premium Live Events, including Royal Rumble, starting in 2026; this distribution change does not establish a 6 p.m. start (WWE).
What the 2026 announcements do—and do not—tell viewers
WWE announced Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the host city for the 2026 Royal Rumble in January 2025 (WWE). The announcement does not state a start time or explain a U.S. time listing. Together with the ESPN distribution announcement, it gives context about location and U.S. viewing arrangements, but neither announcement confirms that the event starts at 6 p.m. ET.
