A missing Join button on a 24/7 YouTube live stream does not, by itself, mean the stream’s continuous schedule is the cause. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance instead points to channel membership settings, regional availability, the platform or page being viewed, and the eligibility of that particular watch page. Check those factors in order before changing the stream.
First, find out whether the problem is limited to the stream page
Try the channel homepage and its membership page before assuming memberships are disabled. YouTube recommends opening the channel homepage or visiting the channel URL with /join appended. For example, if the channel URL is https://www.youtube.com/@ChannelName, try https://www.youtube.com/@ChannelName/join.
- If Join appears on the homepage or
/joinpage but not on the live stream’s watch page, the issue may be specific to that page or the platform you are using. That comparison does not prove the stream schedule caused it. - If Join is missing everywhere, check whether memberships are enabled and whether regional eligibility applies.
YouTube says, “The ‘Join’ button only appears on eligible watch pages.” Its guidance names watch pages for some videos claimed by music partners as one example of pages where the button may not appear. YouTube’s viewer troubleshooting guidance describes the available checks.
Check the channel’s membership settings
If you manage the channel
Open YouTube Studio and inspect the channel’s memberships setting to confirm that memberships are turned on. YouTube lists disabled memberships as a possible reason viewers do not see Join. If the setting is unavailable or you cannot confirm eligibility, consult YouTube’s channel memberships guidance.

If you are a viewer
Check the channel homepage and its /join page. If Join is absent there too, the channel may not have memberships enabled, or a regional or platform condition may apply. A missing button on one stream page alone is not enough to determine the channel’s membership status.
Check viewer and creator region
YouTube memberships are not available in every country or region for viewers and creators. If the viewer or channel owner is somewhere memberships are unsupported, Join may not be available. Availability and membership pricing can also vary by region and signup platform. See YouTube’s availability and troubleshooting information rather than assuming the button should appear everywhere.

Try another platform or entry point
If Join is missing in the app or on a particular watch page, open the channel homepage, try its /join page, or use a computer. YouTube recommends these alternatives when platform availability may be affecting the button. If the button appears through one route but not another, that points toward a platform or page-specific issue rather than a confirmed channel-wide setting problem.
Check the stream’s watch-page eligibility
Music claims and other page-specific limits
YouTube gives watch pages for videos claimed by certain music partners as an example of pages that may not be eligible to show Join. If memberships work elsewhere on the channel but not on the stream’s page, check whether that specific video has a claim or another eligibility limitation. The official guidance does not establish that every claimed video is ineligible; it identifies certain music-partner claims as an example.

Made for Kids designation
If you manage the channel, check the stream’s audience setting in YouTube Studio. Creator-facing guidance lists a video being set as Made for Kids as a possible reason viewers may not see Join. YouTube phrases this possible cause as: “Your video is set as made for kids.” Review the video designation alongside the channel’s membership setting in YouTube’s creator guidance.
Check whether you are opening a promotion link
If you expect to see a membership offer or promotion rather than the standard Join option, use the official promotional link. YouTube notes that some offers or promotions may require their designated link. A general stream watch page may not display the promotion.

What the available guidance does—and does not—establish
YouTube’s cited troubleshooting pages do not name 24/7 broadcasting or stream duration as a cause of a missing Join button. They describe membership settings, regional availability, platform access, and watch-page eligibility instead. That does not identify the cause on your channel: the answer depends on the viewer’s region and platform, the channel’s settings, and the specific watch page.
