India is on YouTube’s current list of countries where eligible creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers, so being in India alone is unlikely to explain why Super Chat is disabled. Check two separate things: your channel’s access to fan-funding features and this specific stream’s eligibility. YouTube’s warning about streams longer than 12 hours concerns whether a replay is captured; it does not identify stream length as a reason Super Chat stops working during a live broadcast.
1. Check whether your channel has access to Supers
Super Chat and Super Stickers are part of YouTube’s fan-funding features. YouTube’s baseline requirements include being in the YouTube Partner Program, being at least 18, living in a location where Supers are available, and accepting and complying with the applicable Commerce Product Module or former Commerce Product Addendum. - Open YouTube Studio and go to Earn.
- Look for the Supers tab or card. If it is available, review the displayed eligibility and terms, then confirm Supers are switched on.
- If the Supers section is unavailable or indicates that you do not have access, resolve the channel-level eligibility or terms issue shown there. The public rules alone cannot reveal which restriction applies to a particular channel.
2. Check the settings and status of this stream
A channel may have Supers access while an individual video or live stream remains ineligible. YouTube lists several stream- or video-level restrictions. YouTube Help: Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility
- Audience: Made-for-kids content is not eligible. YouTube also says live chat and Super Chat are disabled on made-for-kids streams.
- Visibility: Supers are unavailable on unlisted and private videos.
- Age restriction: Age-restricted videos are ineligible.
- Fundraiser: YouTube Giving fundraiser videos are ineligible.
Review the audience and visibility settings for the actual live stream, not just the channel’s general defaults. If a stream has been age-restricted, check its status in Studio.

3. Make sure live chat and comments are available
YouTube says Supers are unavailable when live chat or comments are turned off. Eligible live streams and Premieres with live chat enabled automatically support Supers, subject to the other eligibility rules. YouTube Help: Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility; YouTube Help: live chat
- Confirm that live chat is enabled for this stream.
- Open the stream’s YouTube watch page and check the chat there. Live chat is not available in embedded players, so an embedded view is not a reliable way to verify it.
- If chat is set to subscribers-only, note that this can limit some features for viewers; check the viewer’s experience as well as the creator-side setting.
4. Separate live Super Chat from the 24/7 replay issue
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That matters if you need a replay of a continuous broadcast. It is a separate issue from live Super Chat: YouTube’s cited archive guidance does not say that a stream loses Supers while it is live because it passed 12 hours. YouTube Help: archive live streams

For a 24/7 channel, plan separately for preserving the content you need. Do not treat shortening or restarting a stream as a confirmed Super Chat fix based on the archive warning.
5. If everything looks eligible, use Studio as the next check
If your channel meets the fan-funding requirements and the stream has eligible settings with chat enabled, check the stream and channel status shown in YouTube Studio’s Earn section. YouTube surfaces Supers access there when a creator has it. The public eligibility rules cannot identify the cause for an individual account without its Studio status and stream settings.
