What changed in Guy Fieri’s birthday video?
Fieri shared the video around January 22, 2026, his 58th birthday. Instead of his familiar spiky blond hair and goatee, he had darker, smoother hair, a clean-shaven face, a checkered button-down shirt and khakis. Us Weekly reported that he captioned the post, “New Year. New Guy. New Look.”
In the video, Fieri said: “Hey there! After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured this year I’d celebrate it as just a guy. Happy birthday to me!” Us Weekly reported on the birthday post and his statement on January 23, 2026.
Why did Guy Fieri change his appearance?
The makeover was a campaign tease for a Bosch Super Bowl commercial. The released ad built a fictional transformation around Bosch appliances and power tools: Fieri’s ordinary-looking persona becomes the recognizable Guy Fieri associated with his signature hair and facial hair. The Daily Beast’s The Looker described the ad and its premise on February 5, 2026.

Coverage from E! News and The Independent also tied the new look to the Super Bowl campaign. The birthday clip was a teaser and visual gag, not an announcement that Fieri had permanently changed his appearance.
Was the new look AI-generated?
Some viewers speculated that the birthday video was AI-generated. Later coverage connected the appearance to the Bosch campaign and described it as a real-world makeover rather than an AI transformation. The available reporting does not establish whether every detail in the birthday clip came from physical styling, a wig, digital editing or a combination, so the precise production method should not be assumed.

Did Guy Fieri dye his hair or shave his goatee for good?
The video showed darker-looking hair and no goatee, but that appearance served the ad’s setup. The campaign coverage supports calling it temporary; it does not establish a permanent change to Fieri’s signature look. Nor does it specify exactly how the hair and facial-hair changes were achieved.
