Fast N’ Loud ended in 2020, according to Richard Rawlings and interviewer Tarek Saab. Rawlings later said his Discovery contract restricted his ability to make independent shows and clips, and that he moved toward internet and YouTube content. That is his explanation of his experience—not proof that the contract was Discovery’s reason for ending the series. The available sources do not establish an official network explanation or a definitive cause.
What is known about the end of Fast N’ Loud?
Discovery announced a new season of Fast N’ Loud on March 2, 2020, and gave March 30, 2020, as its premiere date. The network described the series as following Richard Rawlings and the Gas Monkey Garage crew as they searched for and restored classic cars. Discovery’s season announcement establishes that the show was still being promoted for a new season in March; it does not say when filming stopped or when a decision about the series’ future was made.

In a later interview with Tarek Saab on Y’all Street, Rawlings and Saab refer to the show as having ended in 2020. That supports describing the outcome as the series ending that year, but does not establish that Discovery formally cancelled it or acted unilaterally.
What reason did Richard Rawlings give?
Rawlings said his Discovery contract limited his ability to make media independently. “They held me back because they owned me in all media, which when I signed it was radio, television, newspapers, magazines,” he told Saab. He added, “I couldn’t make my own shows or do my own clips or anything.”

Rawlings also described pursuing internet and YouTube content after leaving Discovery. His comments offer a first-person account of why he wanted to move beyond the network arrangement. The interview does not include the contract or Discovery’s account of the decision, so the remarks should not be treated as confirmation that contract restrictions caused the show to end.

The available sources do not settle whether Discovery cancelled the series, whether the separation was mutual, or whether another factor determined its future. They also do not establish ratings decline, a feud, or a single contract dispute as the cause. The most careful description is that Fast N’ Loud ended in 2020 and that Rawlings later cited his contract’s media restrictions as a limitation on his independent work.
Rank #2
That distinction matters: the season announcement is evidence of a planned 2020 return, while Rawlings’s later interview is evidence of his own perspective on the contract and his move to online content. Neither source supplies an official explanation for why the series ended.
