Drew Scott’s Lanark DS is a one-off custom electric roadster built as a tribute to his father. Its name joins Lanark, his father’s hometown in Scotland, with the initials of the Property Brothers host: DS.
Why did Drew Scott build the Lanark DS?
Scott has said his father encouraged his interest in classic cars. When they were together in Scotland, his father would point out cars he admired. Scott later made the roadster to honor that influence. In an account of Scott speaking on the Rodiculous podcast, EntertainmentNow quotes him: “So I did it as a tribute to him. And I named the car after my dad’s hometown in Scotland, Lanark. So the car is a Lanark DS, my initials D-S, one-of-a-kind.” EntertainmentNow
What does Lanark DS stand for?
“Lanark” refers to the Scottish hometown of Scott’s father, while “DS” represents Drew Scott’s initials. The name therefore makes the family tribute explicit rather than simply identifying a design or vehicle model. EntertainmentNow
How does the car reflect Scott’s family heritage?
EntertainmentNow reports that the seats use the Scott family tartan. It also says Scott’s wife, Linda Phan, designed an emblem combining a thistle with the Rocky Mountains. Those details connect the car’s Scottish family roots with the couple’s life in North America. They are reported elements of this custom build, not a published factory specification. EntertainmentNow

What kind of car is the Lanark DS?
It is a singular custom electric roadster, not a production car offered as a standard model. Reports describe it as drawing on classic European styling while using modern electric components. Motor Authority reports a Tesla motor and custom chassis; ClassicCars.com Journal describes a Tesla motor, composite body and tubular space-frame chassis, and identifies the project as a collaboration between Scott and Ant Anstead. These are media-reported build details, not an authoritative manufacturer specification sheet. Motor Authority · ClassicCars.com Journal
Motor Authority also describes a touchscreen used as an instrument display and adjustable regenerative braking. The article’s estimated range and weight are secondary figures, not confirmed current specifications, so they should not be treated as verified performance promises. Motor Authority
