Dr. McKay is arrested at the end of The Pitt Episode 14 after she damages her mandated ankle monitor. The cliffhanger is resolved in the season-one finale: Robby intervenes, and McKay avoids arrest. The show leaves the reason for her original monitoring undisclosed.
Why is Dr. McKay arrested on The Pitt?

The monitor’s cause is not revealed in full. Parade says it was mandated because of an earlier incident, but neither the recap nor Fiona Dourif’s interview supplies a complete legal history. The story does not establish a specific crime or charge behind the original monitoring.
Does Dr. McKay go to jail after the ankle-monitor cliffhanger?
No. The season-one finale resolves the arrest cliffhanger: Robby intervenes, and McKay avoids arrest for disabling the monitor. TIME reports that she finishes her shift and goes home to her son. TIME’s season-one finale recap

What McKay’s story with David adds
The finale also brings McKay’s unresolved encounter with David, a teenager whose list of girls he wanted to hurt prompted her to alert police. Dourif says McKay recognizes something of herself in him and tries to reach him because she cares about what happens next. That character connection offers context for McKay’s choices; it does not prove that her own earlier incident involved the same conduct.
Speaking to Parade about McKay’s final conversation with David, Dourif said: “So, I think that in that final talk, it’s, it comes from a place of real blindness, and an attempt to get through it comes from care, for sure.”

What the show does—and does not—establish
The episode recaps and Dourif’s interview support a plot explanation: McKay damages a mandated monitor, police arrest her at the end of Episode 14, and Robby helps her avoid arrest in the finale. They do not establish her full legal history, the specific charge contemplated by the story, or what would happen under real-world law. The monitor storyline is fictional drama, not a guide to electronic monitoring or criminal procedure.
