First identify who sees the repeat. If only you see one video repeating while watching a YouTube playlist, check the player’s repeat control. If the livestream audience sees the same prerecorded file again and again, inspect the playlist or playout sequence feeding the encoder or hosted service. These are separate systems: a viewer’s playback control does not set the content of your outgoing live broadcast.
Is the repeat in your player or in the livestream?
Ask a viewer—or check the live output from another device—whether the repeated file is actually part of the broadcast.
- Only your viewing session repeats a video: troubleshoot the YouTube player’s playlist controls.
- The live audience sees the same file repeat: troubleshoot the source playlist, encoder, or hosted playout service sending the feed.
YouTube’s live-stream setup describes scheduling an event and sending its content through an encoder. Its playlist repeat control is documented as viewer-side playback behavior, not as a control for the channel’s outgoing live feed. YouTube’s playlist instructions and live-stream setup instructions describe different workflows.
If only your YouTube player repeats one video
YouTube supports both repeating a whole playlist and repeating one video within it. On a computer, expand the playlist beside the video and click the Loop control. YouTube says the playlist will repeat continuously; clicking the control again switches to repeating one video. Labels and control locations can vary by device. See YouTube’s playlist instructions.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you are watching the livestream itself rather than a YouTube playlist, a repeat control in your player affects your playback session; it does not establish that the live audience is receiving the same repeated file.
If the live audience sees the same prerecorded file
Start with the system that sends the broadcast, not the viewer’s YouTube player. YouTube’s live-stream guidance describes an encoder sending the content feed, while the Live Streaming API distinguishes scheduled broadcast events from reusable stream delivery settings. Reusing stream settings does not mean the prerecorded source is a YouTube playlist. YouTube’s encoder setup guide and Live Streaming API documentation explain those separate parts of the workflow.

- Check the source sequence. In the encoder or hosted playout system, verify that the intended files are present and that their order is correct.
- Check the repeat state. Look for a setting that repeats the current item or loops a single file instead of advancing through the sequence. The exact control depends on the encoder or service; YouTube’s documentation does not specify one universal playlist-repair setting.
- Check the schedule in the service you use. If a hosted service schedules the playlist, inspect that service’s playlist and schedule rather than assuming YouTube’s player controls govern them. Restream, for example, documents creating a video playlist and scheduling it to go live on YouTube and other platforms; that example does not establish that you use Restream or that it caused the problem. Restream’s playlist scheduling instructions
- Retest the affected layer. If only personal playback was affected, check the viewer’s playlist again. If the audience saw the repeated file, check the live preview or output after changing the source sequence or repeat setting.
Why a scheduled event can still play the wrong sequence
A scheduled YouTube broadcast and the media being sent into it are different parts of the workflow. The Live Streaming API describes liveBroadcast resources for scheduled events and liveStream resources for delivery settings. A scheduled event alone does not identify or repair the playlist or playout sequence feeding the encoder.
Without details such as the affected device, encoder, hosted service, source playlist, and live output, the exact cause cannot be determined. Focus diagnosis on the layer where viewers actually see the repetition.
