The answer depends on which player owns the playlist. Castr documents playlists of Castr livestreams and video-on-demand content, while its YouTube guide covers sending a Castr stream to YouTube—not playing YouTube playlists inside Castr. Check the playback controls for the player that is actually open; the available documentation does not establish a single Castr fault that explains this symptom.
First identify where the playlist is playing
Check the page or app showing the video. A Castr-hosted playlist and a playlist playing on YouTube are different features with different controls. Also note when playback stops: before the first item starts, between items, or after the final item. That timing helps identify which setting to check.
- Castr playlist player: The playlist contains Castr livestreams and VOD content. Its playback options include controls for starting playback, moving to the next item, looping, and shuffling.
- YouTube player: YouTube’s own Autoplay setting controls whether another related video starts after a video ends. A separate Loop control repeats a playlist.
- Castr stream sent to YouTube: This is a stream-destination setup, not a way to play a YouTube playlist inside Castr.
If it is a Castr-hosted playlist
It stops between playlist items
Open the playlist’s Playback options and enable Autoplay next item. This is the Castr setting for advancing from one playlist item to the next.
It does not start when the player loads
Enable Autoplay on load in the playlist’s Playback options. Castr’s playlist article also says the first content can autoplay when ?autoplay=true is appended to the Castr playlist player URL. The Castr embed Player API separately documents an autoplay=on|off parameter for starting an embed on load; use the parameter appropriate to the kind of Castr player you have.

It stops at the end of the list
Enable Loop in Playback options if the playlist should start over after its final item. Shuffle changes playback order; it is not the setting for advancing or repeating.
Castr’s Help Center playlist article, published May 31, 2026, describes these controls for Castr livestream and VOD playlists. They do not establish a control for importing or playing a YouTube playlist.

If it is a YouTube playlist
Check Autoplay for the device in use
Turn on YouTube’s Autoplay control on the device where playback stops. YouTube notes that Autoplay settings can vary by device and that Autoplay may stop after inactivity. Its documented behavior is to start another related video after the current video ends; that is not the same as repeating the same playlist.
Use playlist Loop to repeat the list
If playback reaches the end and should begin again at the first playlist item, use YouTube’s playlist Loop control. Autoplaying the next video and looping a playlist are separate behaviors, so enabling one does not necessarily provide the other.

YouTube Help provides device-specific instructions for Autoplay and playlist looping. Because the exact control location can depend on the device, check the player on the device where the issue occurs.
If Castr is sending a stream to YouTube
Castr’s YouTube setup guide, published May 19, 2023, documents connecting YouTube through an API connection or YouTube’s stream server and key. That workflow sends a Castr stream to YouTube; it does not diagnose why a playlist in either player stops. The guide recommends toggling a destination off while the stream is offline and enabling it again when the source is live. That advice concerns stream connections, not playlist playback.

What to record if it still stops
The documented settings may not explain an individual failure. Before contacting support, note the actual player URL or app, device, whether it stops on load, between items, or at the list’s end, and any error shown. Those details distinguish a player-control issue from a connection or account-specific problem. The available help pages document settings and setup steps, but do not confirm a general cause or service defect for this symptom.
