Doechii released a newly recorded version of “Anxiety” in March 2025 after fans asked for the early song to be available on streaming services. The original recording was tied to her 2019 self-released mixtape Coven Music Sessions; the 2025 release was a re-recording issued through Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records.
Why did Doechii release “Anxiety” in 2025?
Fans had been asking for “Anxiety” to receive an official digital release. Universal Music Canada’s announcement explained the decision this way: “so with fans asking that it finally be released, Doechii decided to re-record her vocals.” The earlier recording had not been released to digital service providers, according to the label. The renewed attention followed the song’s circulation online. Official Charts says a snippet appeared in Sleepy Hallow’s 2023 track “A N X I E T Y,” after which the song became popular on TikTok and listeners requested Doechii release it. Official Charts’ Doechii chart record
How the original recording differs from the released single
| Earlier recording | 2025 single |
|---|---|
| Made for Doechii’s 2019 self-released mixtape Coven Music Sessions. | Doechii re-recorded her vocals for the release. |
| Universal Music Canada says it had not been released to digital service providers. | Issued through Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records as a streaming single. |
The official release is listed as a two-song single, not simply the old recording newly added to streaming. Apple Music’s US listing dates “Anxiety – Single” March 5, 2025, and identifies it as a six-minute Hip-Hop/Rap release from Top Dawg Entertainment/Capitol Records. Apple Music US listing

Release date and the label-page discrepancy
For a precise release date, Apple Music’s US catalog lists March 5, 2025. Universal Music Canada’s announcement page is headed March 13, 2025, but its URL path contains “2025/03/07”; those are conflicting dates for the page, not a reason to replace the catalog date. Doechii’s official site also lists “Anxiety” in its music section and links to listening destinations. Doechii’s official site
