Kourtney Kardashian later said Scott Disick’s substance abuse was the dealbreaker; she said she only learned about his infidelity near the end. Their final split was reported in July 2015, after photos showed Disick with his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli. Kardashian said at the time that she had been dealing with the situation for a long time and wanted to focus on herself and their children.
What did Kourtney say was the dealbreaker?
At the June 2021 Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion, Kardashian explained: “The infidelity, I only knew about it at the end, so I think the substance abuse was the dealbreaker.” This was her retrospective explanation of the relationship’s end, rather than a complete account of every private factor involved. What happened when they split in 2015?
Us Weekly dates their final breakup to July 2015, after photos showed Disick with Bartoli in Monte Carlo. ABC News likewise reported that the breakup followed photos of Disick with another woman. The photos were the immediate public trigger reported at the time, but they do not explain the longer history Kardashian later described.
In 2015 breakup coverage, Kardashian said, “I love Scott, but I’ve been dealing with this for so long, it’s definitely not good for me.” She also said she was trying to focus on herself and the children. ABC News reported her comments.

Why was the breakup part of a longer story?
Kardashian and Disick met in 2006 and had an on-and-off relationship before their final separation. Us Weekly describes earlier breakups and reunions, including a 2008 split after Kardashian found messages from another woman and a 2010 split amid concerns about Disick’s partying. Kardashian and Disick share three children: Mason, Penelope, and Reign. In a 2019 interview, Disick said, “Just because their mother and I couldn’t make it as a perfect, romantic couple shouldn’t have anything to do with the kids.” He described working out a way to raise the children together.
