Brittany Cartwright said recent cosmetic work under her chin contributed to the frown-like appearance viewers noticed during much of The Valley’s first season. She said she had liposuction and Morpheus8 about three weeks before filming, and that her mouth was back to normal by the time she explained what happened on her podcast.
What did Brittany Cartwright say caused her frown face?
Cartwright attributed the expression to cosmetic work she had on her double chin shortly before filming The Valley. In comments on When Reality Hits, the podcast she hosted with Jax Taylor, she said she had a little liposuction under her chin and Morpheus8 about three weeks before production began. Us Weekly reported her explanation on March 14, 2024 (Us Weekly).

She said her doctors expected her face to be back to normal by the time filming started, but the frown-like look remained visible for much of the season. E! News described Morpheus8 as combining microneedling with radiofrequency to stimulate collagen production; that is the outlet’s description of the treatment, not evidence that it caused a specific result in Cartwright’s case (E! News).
What happened to her mouth?
Cartwright said that early on, her bottom lip would not move up and down normally when she spoke. She described having to use a finger to move it so she could talk, as reported by Us Weekly. She also said her mouth had returned to normal by the time she discussed the issue on the podcast; E! News quoted her saying, “My mouth is back to normal now, thank God!”
