The character behind the claim is Aoi Sakamoto, Taro Sakamoto’s wife. She is not presented as a rival assassin who can beat the series’ fighters; the point is that her resolve can intimidate even a former legendary hit man. That contrast makes her frightening in a way combat skill alone cannot explain.
Who is the character the title is talking about?
It is Aoi Sakamoto. An IMDb listing that syndicates the CBR article with the exact-title claim identifies her as its subject and frames her force as insistence and determination, not supernatural power or expertise with martial arts or weapons. The idea that she may be more terrifying than the assassins is therefore an interpretation of her character, not a ranking of who would win a fight.
Why does Aoi stand out in a story about assassins?
VIZ’s series description establishes the contrast: Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary hit man, but quit after marrying, having a child, and opening a neighborhood store. His past continues to catch up with him. Aoi belongs to the family life he chose, rather than the assassin world he left behind.
In that setup, Aoi’s influence is striking precisely because it is not built on combat credentials. The CBR article’s thesis, as represented in IMDb’s syndicated listing, is that her determination can unsettle even someone as formidable as Taro. Her threat is emotional and personal: she can make the legendary assassin answer to the values and commitments of his home life.

Is Aoi stronger than the assassins?
That is not what the claim establishes. It does not say Aoi can outfight the series’ assassins, nor does the available summary identify particular scenes that would support such a conclusion. “More terrifying” works as a characterization contrast: Aoi’s resolve has power over Taro, while the assassins’ danger is grounded in violence and skill. The distinction keeps the headline from being mistaken for a combat ranking.
Where can you read Sakamoto Days?
VIZ lists Sakamoto Days, Vol. 1 in paperback and digital editions. The paperback is 200 pages, carries ISBN-13 978-1-9747-2894-7, and was released April 5, 2022; VIZ lists Amazon among its retailers. Volume 1 is the start of the manga, not a volume devoted specifically to Aoi.
