In a PC Gamer interview published January 5, he clarified the wording: “I was just kidding about ‘psychos’ in the sense that they’re crazy to not make another game.” Toufexis is a prominent actor in the series, but his comment is his opinion, not an official statement from the companies that control the franchise.
Why is there no new Deus Ex game?

PC Gamer reported that Embracer Group shut down a Deus Ex revival project at Eidos Montréal in January 2024. That is secondary reporting, not an official company explanation, and it does not establish that the reported cancellation is the definitive reason no new game has appeared. The January 2026 coverage also does not verify whether release plans changed after publication, so it should not be treated as a confirmed October 2026 status update.
