A man identified in news reports as Justin Lee Fisher was arrested in Leawood, Kansas, on September 15, 2025, after entering private residential property. Reports said he was trying to serve Taylor Swift with deposition papers connected to Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s lawsuit, but TMZ, citing sources familiar with the matter, said he did not succeed. Swift was not shown to have been served or deposed.
Why was a man arrested near Travis Kelce’s home?
Leawood Police confirmed that a man was arrested in the neighborhood on September 15, 2025, and released after posting bond, according to The Independent. Contemporaneous reporting by Us Weekly identified the man as Justin Lee Fisher and said he was found at Kelce’s gated property around 2 a.m. Fisher was reportedly charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass after entering private residential property.
The arrest itself was confirmed by police. The reported reason for Fisher’s visit comes from news accounts and, later, Fisher’s own description in a court diversion application—not from a finding that a court made about the arrest.
Was Fisher trying to serve Taylor Swift?
TMZ reported that Fisher was attempting to serve Swift with deposition papers on behalf of Baldoni’s legal team. Citing sources familiar with the matter, TMZ said the attempt was unsuccessful. That is a reported account; there is no established indication here that Swift was served at Kelce’s home or subsequently deposed.

In a diversion application later quoted by KCTV5, Fisher described himself as a process server and said: “I was arrested in the process of doing my job as a process server.” He wrote that he went through a gate as it opened and tried to speak with security guards to serve paperwork. Those are Fisher’s statements, not findings adopted by the court.
Why was Swift’s deposition being discussed?
Baldoni’s team sought more time to depose Swift in the civil dispute involving Baldoni and Blake Lively. Its September 11, 2025 filing reportedly represented that Swift had agreed to appear during the week of October 20. Swift’s lawyer disputed that account in a September 12 letter, saying she had not agreed to a deposition and that her team had first heard about the request three days earlier. The letter said her schedule could accommodate that week if the parties resolved their disputes.

Swift’s counsel also maintained that she had no material role in the case. A representative described her connection to the film as licensing the song “My Tears Ricochet” and denied that she was involved in casting or creative decisions. That is the representative’s characterization, not a judicial finding.
What did the judge decide?
U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman denied Baldoni’s team’s request to extend the discovery deadline to take Swift’s deposition. The Independent quoted the judge’s reason: “Having failed to demonstrate appropriate diligence, the requested extension is denied.” The discovery deadline was September 30, 2025. The ruling addressed the request for more time; it was not a decision about Fisher’s arrest or the trespass allegation.

KCTV5 reported on December 3, 2025, citing Leawood Municipal Court records, that Fisher entered a 12-month diversion program on December 2. The reported fee was more than $1,000: $500 was due on December 2, with the remainder due within 90 days. The report listed March 3, 2026, as his final court date.
The available reporting does not establish what happened at or after that scheduled date, including whether Fisher completed diversion or the charge was dismissed. The final disposition is therefore unverified.
