Kerala Police reportedly issued a lookout notice for actor Siddique after the Kerala High Court rejected his anticipatory-bail application on September 24, 2024. The notice was reported the next day; the Supreme Court later granted him interim protection from arrest on September 30, subject to conditions.
Why was a lookout notice reported?
On September 24, 2024, the Kerala High Court at Ernakulam rejected Siddique’s application for anticipatory bail. India Today reported on September 25 that Kerala Police had issued a lookout notice and were searching for him, saying police suspected he might have left the state. That was a reported police suspicion, not confirmation that he had left Kerala. India Today’s September 25 report did not include a primary copy of the notice.

What case was the bail application about?
The Supreme Court later recorded that Siddique’s appeal challenged the Kerala High Court’s September 24 order in Bail Application No. 7331 of 2024. The underlying case was Crime No. 1192 of 2024, registered on August 27, 2024, at Museum Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram City under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. These are procedural details from the court record, not findings that the allegations are true. The Supreme Court judgment identifies the appeal as Siddique v. State of Kerala & Anr., Criminal Appeal No. 4625 of 2024, 2024 INSC 877.
What happened after the High Court ruling?
On September 30, 2024, the Supreme Court granted Siddique interim protection from arrest pending the next hearing, according to a contemporaneous Press Trust of India report reproduced by Odisha Post. The report said the protection was subject to conditions and that Siddique was directed to join and cooperate with the investigation. How to understand the two court decisions
The High Court’s September 24 decision rejected anticipatory bail; it did not grant bail. The later Supreme Court order provided interim protection from arrest while the appeal was pending, as described in the September 30 report. These were separate procedural events. The Supreme Court judgment records the appeal and the challenged order, but the cited materials do not establish a final determination of the allegations or the later status of any lookout notice.
