No. Sarper confirmed the breakup during the Season 3 Tell All, which aired September 21, 2026, and posted a statement the next day. Shekinah also addressed the split on September 22. Their reconciliation during filming did not lead to them staying together afterward.

Why did Shekinah say the relationship ended?
In a September 22 statement, Shekinah said she skipped the Tell All to protect her mental health, adding, “My mental health is more valuable than the opinions of the other cast.” She said Sarper had not responded to her attempts to contact him for weeks.

Her account of life and work in Turkey
Shekinah said she had little autonomy while living in Turkey and felt expected to attend Sarper’s comedy performances and laugh at jokes about her and their marriage. She described being required to sit where he could see her, even after arguments or when she had been crying. She said she moved to Miami with her daughter after returning to Los Angeles and being kicked off his tour.
Shekinah also raised concerns about Sarper’s alleged involvement with The Single Life and dating apps. These statements are her account; the reporting does not independently verify them. She described a contrast between Sarper’s public stage persona and how she said he treated her privately, writing that she wanted the “bright, charming, charismatic version of him” she saw onstage at home as well.
What did Sarper say about the split?
Sarper said both of them tried, but the relationship could not continue. “We simply couldn’t make it work anymore,” he said. He denied choosing fame or money over Shekinah: “I never chose fame or money over her.”
Sarper said they had been separated for at least eight months as of his September 2026 statement, placing the separation no later than the beginning of that year. That is his account of the timeline. The couple’s more detailed explanations differ: Shekinah described specific behavior she says damaged the relationship, while Sarper characterized it as a relationship they could not repair.

What is known about the divorce filing?
TMZ reported on September 29, citing court documents it obtained, that Shekinah filed for divorce on September 28. The outlet said the filing listed irreconcilable differences and gave September 22 as the separation date. TMZ also reported that she requested spousal support and that property and debts remained to be resolved. These details are attributed to TMZ’s account of the documents; a finalized divorce or the case’s disposition has not been established here.
On September 30, TV Insider reported the filing and quoted Shekinah saying she had reached “a point of no return.” She described the decision as heartbreaking and said she was choosing to let go and move forward.
How to understand the different explanations
“Irreconcilable differences,” the legal basis TMZ reported, is not the same as a detailed public explanation for the breakup. Shekinah’s allegations about control, support, comedy performances, and dating apps remain her claims; Sarper’s denial and account of an irreparable relationship are his. The available reporting does not establish either person’s private conduct as fact, so the fairest account is to distinguish their statements from the reported filing.
