Her memoir
In 1999, Dow published From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir, a book about her relationship with Jennifer, as recorded by the Television Academy. The fact of publication establishes that Dow wrote about the relationship; it does not, by itself, establish private motives or a complete account of what happened between them.
What is known about John Aniston and Nancy Dow’s marriage?
The Television Academy says Dow married actor John Aniston in 1965, that they had one child, Jennifer, and that they remained together until 1981. Dow had previously been married to pianist Jack Melick and had a son, John Jr., according to the same profile. The Academy’s account places the end of the marriage in 1981; other published accounts have given different divorce years, so the dates should not be treated as interchangeable.

What is publicly documented about Nancy Dow’s relationship with Jennifer?
The securely documented contours include Dow’s 1999 memoir about her relationship with Jennifer.
