Their two dances received 58/60 from the judges, tied for the second-highest score of the night. The reported result combined judges’ scores with viewer votes, so the leaderboard alone does not explain the elimination.
What happened in the semifinals?
The episode, titled “Prince Night,” featured the six remaining couples performing two routines each. Every pair danced one style it had not performed earlier in the season, followed by a routine intended to demonstrate its progress.
Leavitt and Ballas danced a cha cha to “1999” and a Viennese waltz to “Slow Love.” They scored 29/30 on each routine, for 58/60 overall. Although that total tied for second among the judges’ scores, the recap reports that the couple received the lowest combined result after audience votes were included.
ABC News’ Nov. 25, 2025 season summary independently confirms that Leavitt and Ballas left in the Nov. 18 semifinals, leaving five couples for the finale.

Why the highest scores did not determine the elimination
Leavitt and Ballas were not the lowest-scoring couple with the judges: Efron and Karagach received 55/60, while Leavitt and Ballas received 58/60. The published explanation is that the show combined judges’ scores and viewer votes. Neither the Forbes recap nor the ABC News summary provides audience-vote totals, so there is no verified vote count showing how the final margin was produced.
